During the last 6 weeks we have been up to all sorts. Infact, I’m pretty proud of how messy things have gotten, this sort of thing used to freak me out completely! That being said, I never want to be ‘that mum’ who is following their child around with the Milton wipes telling them not to get dirty. So here we are… getting dirty!
How to make Oobleck
After looking online at the ‘best’ ways to make oobleck, I of course went for the easiest way I could find- Easiest= Quickest= happy mummy!
Recipe
- 1 1/2 cups cornstarch
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons food colouring (optional)
Method
- Start with the water in a bowl and add the cornstarch a bit at a time.
- Keep stirring until it has a gooey consistency (this isn’t easy), you may want to use your hands as it’s easier to manipluate that way.
- When the oobleck is a consistency you’re happy with, slowly add food coloring, if you want to- This can again, can be a challenge!
- Get messy and play!
I gave Harry random kitchen items to use with the Oobleck, the potato masher was a solid favourite.
